- A.P.D.L. Education Resources CD Clip Art
- ----------------------------------------
-
- Please see the later section on Copyright before using this material.
-
- The clip art is divided into several sections, and these are further
- sub-divided so it should be easy to discover the material you want.
-
- The files are catalogued in three ways.
-
- Firstly you will see a text file called FILE_LIST. This, as the name
- implies, is a complete list of every file, with its pathname, type (D
- for Draw or S for Sprite) and size. This enables you to quickly locate
- and go directly to a file or group of files or to search for a subject
- by looking for likely keywords.
-
- The second method is the application !CDView. This will let you move
- through the various directories, looking at files in a browser window.
-
- Thirdly, most directories have one or more Index files with Thumbnail
- images of the contents of the directory. Using these you can see a
- miniature version of the images and you could print these and bind them
- to give a hard copy of the sections you are interested in if you wish.
- Because these images are rather small to fit as many as possible onto an
- A4 page the larger pictures will not be very clear, but the smaller
- items will be rendered perfectly well.
-
- Copyright and Licence.
- ----------------------
-
- Most of the material in this collection is taken from Public Domain or
- Freeware sources, but some may be Shareware and require separate payment
- to the author if you use it. See the appropriate text files where this
- applies.
-
- Even where no specific copyright applies, and even if originally Public
- Domain or Freeware, all of this material has had considerable work done
- by APDL to make it suitable for use, often translating it from other
- formats. Although APDL does not claim any rights over the ORIGINAL
- material, or any intellectual rights to the images, we DO claim Copyright
- over the files as presented on this CD. Your Licence to use this
- material, as a purchaser of this CD, are as follows.
-
- 1 You may print any of the files or incorporate them into documents
- which you intend to print.
-
- 2. If the purchaser was a school then any pupil or employee of the
- school may use the material as if he/she were the original purchaser,
- provided that the material is not used for the financial gain of any
- individual or organisation other than for the benefit of the school.
-
- 3. Pupils or employees of the school may make copies on disc or other
- media of a file or files but ONLY for use in a manner permitted by items
- 1 and 2.
-
- 4. Except for the purposes previously described you are not permitted
- to make machine readable copies of files or to incorporate them into
- machine readable documents. If files are used in documents which are to
- be distributed in machine readable format and from which it will be
- possible to extract the images then a PLAINLY VISIBLE notice MUST be
- incorporated informing any recipient that the image(s) are Copyright
- APDL and must not be extracted or used by third parties.
-
- In general, the aim is to enable any school or its pupils to use these
- files for school work, in notices, magazines, etc. where these are
- intended for the benefit of the school, and to permit individual pupils
- to have access to the files where this would be of service to them in
- their education. However, it is forbidden to distribute or pass on
- material (other than in printed form) to people outside this environment
- or to use it for commercial gain without the specific permission of
- APDL.
